Recharge on The Coast
The Palm Beaches are a Playground for Wellness Adventure
By Lola Augustine Brown
Stretched along Florida’s southeast coast, The Palm Beaches—hailed as “America’s First Resort Destination”—have rest and rejuvenation coursing through their DNA. With 39 vibrant, yet serene towns to explore, connecting with nature or indulging in wellness is always around the corner. From meandering waterways and broad beaches to a growing selection of spa and wellness experiences, this sunny slice of paradise invites you to unwind on your terms.
Horseplay in Wellington
For equestrian enthusiasts, reserve seats at a Sunday polo match at the National Polo Center in Wellington. Between January and April, horses thunder by, and the game’s elegance and energy come alive. At halftime, join the crowd for the signature “divot stomp,” a quirky ritual that connects fans with the sport.
Turtle’s Pace in Juno Beach
Want something gentler? Visit Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. This sea turtle hospital and conservation centre welcomes visitors for free, though donations are encouraged. Home to Florida’s largest sea turtle hospital, guests can stroll exhibits and get a peek at turtles undergoing rehabilitation. Visit during nesting season (roughly March through October), when evening hatchling releases occur.
Restore, Recharge, Revive
Keep an eye out for events like the Eudẽmonia Summit, a 3-day wellness gathering that features leaders from neuroscience innovator Andrew Huberman to positivity powerhouse Gabby Bernstein in mindfulness, neuroscience and healthy living. (November 5—8, 2026)
On Singer Island, indulge at Amrit Ocean Resort—which features Florida’s largest spa—where tranquil beaches, sea breezes and serene wellness retreats offer a reset button. Its crown jewel is Florida’s first indoor-outdoor hydrothermal therapy circuit, a ritual of hot saunas and invigorating cold plunges.
Serenaded by the Sea
Sleep mere steps from the shore in a room that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean at the newly renovated Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa, which boasts a stretch of prime beachfront. Watch a lively band of sandpipers at dawn dart along the water’s edge outside your window. Come bedtime, you can drift off to sleep lulled by the cadence of waves.
Anchored on a private beach, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach places adventure and relaxation within effortless reach. Beneath the palms, perfect your game on green-clay tennis and pickleball courts, or explore the ocean by kayak, paddleboard or snorkel. At Florie’s, a restaurant where South Florida meets the South of France, the menu uses organic botanicals and herbs, while tableside crêpes flambé, adding a touch of Old World glamour.
Waterway Wonders
Explore more than 200 km of scenic waterways aboard a water taxi boat tour, departing from Sailfish Marina. Glide from Palm Beach Shores to the tropical refuge of manmade Peanut Island and venture onward to the lavish Billionaire’s Row, where luxe waterfront estates, owned by the likes of Bill Gates to the late Jimmy Buffett, line its shores. For a laidback lunch on the water, cruise to legendary Guanabanas and enjoy the view as boats drift by.
