Art and Elegance Meet in THE PALM BEACHES
BY LOLA AUGUSTINE BROWN
Performing Arts
Be sure to catch a performance by the Palm Beach
Symphony, known for its first-rate musicians and
distinguished guest artists, or the Palm Beach
Opera—the oldest performing arts organization in
Palm Beach County, which premieres performances
of Roméo et Juliette (Jan. 24–26, 2025) and La
Traviata (Feb. 21–23, 2025). Both companies perform
at the magnificent Kravis Center for the Performing
Arts in West Palm Beach.
Live theatre is also a highlight. Families will
enjoy Frozen, the Broadway Musical at the Maltz
Jupiter Theatre (Jan. 7–26, 2025) in Jupiter. Palm
Beach Dramaworks in West Palm Beach celebrates
its 25th anniversary season with a number of dramatic
performances, including The Dresser (Dec. 20, 2024–
Jan. 5, 2025).
Festivals and Events
Throughout the year, The Palm Beaches hosts a
variety of arts festivals and events. In West Palm
Beach, the Norton Museum’s Art After Dark features
open studios, special museum tours, and street per-
formances with live music, spoken word and dance
every Friday night. Delray Beach and Jupiter hold
First Friday Art Walks monthly, while Boynton
Beach hosts a First Friday concert series at Centen-
nial Park and Amphitheater.
Whatever kind of art sparks your interest, you’ll
find it in The Palm Beaches. Beyond the spectacular
beaches is a cultural scene that welcomes all, and will
make you want to return and experience more.

Beach County offers a cultural scene brim-
ming with glamour and excitement. This
region is known for its 75 kilometres of white-sand
beaches and endless sunshine, but it also boasts a
sophisticated and accessible art landscape.
Destination Museums
The arts scene is incredibly inclusive and visitors
will find something for everyone in Florida’s Cul-
tural Capital. Around The Palm Beaches, which also
carries the “America’s First Resort Destination”
moniker, you’ll find an array of world-class
museums that will enhance your sun-filled getaway.
Many of these museums are architecturally stun-
ning and set in beautiful gardens. Whitehall in Palm
Beach, a National Historic Landmark and home to
the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, is an absolute
must visit. In Delray Beach, you’ll find the stun-
ningly beautiful Morikami Museum and Japanese
Gardens, America’s only museum dedicated to
Japanese living culture.
Fabulous art collections are
nothing new to this region. The Boca
Raton Museum of Art will celebrate
its 75th anniversary in 2025. It is
renowned for its diverse special
exhibits and contemporary art col-
lections. Current exhibitions include
Félix de la Concha and Splendor and
Passion: Baroque Spain and Its
Empire, running until March 30th
.
In West Palm Beach, the Norton
Museum of Art has one of Florida’s
leading art collections—spanning
American, European, Chinese, and
photographic works. Unmissable winter exhibits
include Strike Fast, Dance Lightly: Artists on Boxing
(until March 9, 2025) and Sorolla and the Sea (through
March 16, 2025).
